What inspired you to start blogging?

Originally, I started blogging because I’m a writer. Writing is what I want to do for the rest of my life, and I figured that blogging would be good practice. I could write, people would be able to read it, I could get my name out…and all of that’s still true. Though some things have been added to that.

It’s taught me how to write to a deadline, which was something I desperately needed to learn (and still need some nudging for, sometimes). And, most importantly, it’s helped build friendships.

When I first started blogging, I didn’t realize just how many awesome people there are to talk to, and how many great blogs there are to read! Starting my own blog led me to read other peoples’ blogs, and to interact with them, and that’s been a lot of fun.

So, although it originally started just because I wanted to get my name out there, it’s definitely grown since then!

How long have you been blogging?

200_d.gif

I started blogging back in 2016 on Grace Writing Site, and eventually move to this site in May of 2017. So…roughly four years. Actually, it’ll be exactly four years on July 14th of 2020.

…Perhaps I’ll do a special celebratory post then.

*makes a note of that*

Have you met your blogging objective?

My original blogging objective was…nothing. I had no real objective. So…no?

However, in more recent years, my blogging objective has become simply to create friendships. Meet people. Interact. Maybe grow an audience in the meantime, but first and foremost just support other bloggers and learn from them and their process.

I feel like I’ve done that. And I’m continuing to do that. And hopefully I will continue to do that for as long as I keep blogging.

What are your favorite blogging topics?

I don’t know what this GIF has to do with anything, but it’s cute, so it’s here

My favorite blogging topics usually have something to do with books or writing.

I enjoy writing spiritual posts, too, but I love writing book reviews and talking about the things I’m most passionate about. I am incredibly passionate about God, but I also feel like He’s given me these passions for writing and reading for a reason, and so I enjoy sharing that with others.

I really do love talking about God, though. Sharing about His love, sharing prayers, devotionals, verses that have touched my heart – those posts mean a lot to me. They’re harder to write, though, because they’re more personal – they take a lot of energy to make, and with each of those posts it’s like I’m sharing a very intimate part of my heart. So I don’t post those quite as often as I post others 🙂

How often do you blog?

Currently, my posting schedule is Tuesdays and Fridays, although I’ve considered adding another post on either Wednesdays or Sundays (let me know what you think of that idea in the comments!).

  2. I like writing about God as well! Although I can’t remember ever posting such online, I have quite a number of things to talk about and had written them down. Perhaps I should add a category for that…
